Some info I have learned about doing my research on Jamaica foods. Is that the Spanish came over to the island with Christopher Columbus to kill the Arawaks. The African were slaves and found Jamaica famous jerk sauce from running and hiding from the British. I’m planning on researching next more about how the Spanish and African food helped Jamaica’s foods.

Authors Dora Alonso and Phyillis Shand have a lot in common but also a lot of differences. Dora is a journalist, writes in Spanish and also focus on marginalized characters. Which are people who don't have a voice. so for expample Dora story had a prostitute in it. And Phyillis is a west Indian writer  , old fashioned socialist .One thing that they had in common was they both wrote scripts for radio and tv.

Tetiyette and the devil is a narrative being discussed today. The author of this narrative is anonymous.  my annotation of the narrative is the mother let her daughter pick who she wanted to be married to. And the daughter picked the devil because of his looks and he ended up eating her. And she went crying to her mother and dad, and at first the mom did care about what the daughter was sad about but then she ended up saying that's who you chose to marry."Agh,! I don't give a damn! I had already warned her to beware." is what the father said (pg 3). My opinion is that her family should have been there for her no matter even if they told her to beware of him. Family is family they are supposed to be there for you no matter what and give support till you feel better. I feel like a teenage group of kids can understand the narrative the most. And the authors purpose of writing this was to see if people could understand where the young lady is was coming from.
